The pinewood derby is an annual sectional event held every year in the Waco Section. Royal Rangers and Missionettes from throughout the section take pinewood derby kits and build a car. At the pinewood derby, these cars compete in both speed competitions and in style competitions. Each age group has 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place ribbons awarded for speed and style, while the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd overall Missionettes and 1st, 2nd, and 3rd overall Royal Rangers get trophies for speed and style.
